I've made an album of songs and stories for children, and my song "Fire Truck!" has been released as a Scholastic book with CD. You can purchase copies of them on this website in my online store.
Songs from the old school was a concept that feel right into place. In the nursery school where I grew up in the 1950s and 60s, my parents had an extensive collection of 78 rpm records designed for young children. The artists who appeared on these recordings included Tom Glazer ("On Top of Spaghetti), Pete Seeger (Abiyoyo), Leadbelly, Marcia Berman, Woody Guthrie, and many others.
My parents' nursery school also had a number of records released by the Children's Record Guild and Young People's Records. These were not only musical, but also story records. As a youngster, I was captivated by these records as literature and I have applied many of them to the work I do today.
